Tools, Worlds and Beings in Nordic Nature Spirituality
What if the old Norse traditions were not simply stories from the past, but doorways into a living spiritual landscape — one you could enter, experience and begin to build a relationship with yourself?
Enter the world of Fjǫlkunnig
In Old Norse, fjǫlkunnig described someone possessing deep or extensive knowledge and was associated with people skilled in magical and spiritual practices such as seiðr, galdr, shape-shifting and communication with the spirit world.
It speaks of a knowledge that is not only learned, but experienced — an ability to navigate and build relationships within both the seen and unseen worlds.
Over the course of this weekend, we bring this way of knowing into the present: grounded, experiential and alive.
Rather than simply learning about Norse spirituality, you will have the opportunity to step inside it and experience it for yourself.
Ritual Work and Inner Journeys
Working with intention, ritual, drum and voice, we will open the way into altered states and inner journeys. You will explore aspects of the Norse understanding of the soul, including the fylgja, hugr and hamingja, and discover how these may be encountered through direct experience.
You will work with traditional tools such as drum, rattle and staff, journey into different heimar; worlds known from Norse mythology, and explore ways of connecting with ancestors, spiritual beings and guides.
Fjǫlkunnig is a complete experience in its own right, whether you are encountering Norse nature spirituality for the first time or already have an established spiritual practice.
It can also become a foundation for deeper exploration of seiðr, galdr and spirit work, giving you experiences, practices and ways of navigating the unseen that you can continue to develop long after the weekend has ended.

Jesper Mann & Inger J. Tromborg Syverud
bring more than 30 years of combined experience with Nordic nature spirituality, rooted in animism and ancestral traditions.
Throughout the weekend, they will share their knowledge, practices and experience while creating a space in which you can explore for yourself — supporting you as you begin to find your own pathways through this landscape.
