During the weekend, you’ll have the chance to make either a traditional round/oval drum or an octagonal variant. Please inform us when registering if you prefer the octagonal drum. The frame is already shaped but still needs to be glued, planed, and sanded.

To support you through the process, we have prepared various types of hides from Scandinavian animals, such as roe deer, red deer, reindeer, moose, and goat. These hides are pre-ordered well in advance of the course, and you will also learn how to dye them using plants and herbs.

In addition to creating beautiful drums, the weekend will include shamanic work during the process, including drum journeys. This course is open to everyone, regardless of experience. We will guide you through the entire drum-making process, and while it may be an advantage to have experience with shamanic practice, it is not a requirement.

Making drums is an extensive process, and while we will assist you in every way possible, you should expect to put in some effort. This is not a course where you are a spectator. You are an active participant. Your creation is an expression that requires your dedication.
